EPA Recognizes JLL With 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 03/28/16 -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized JLL (NYSE: JLL) with a 2016 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award for its continued leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. This marks the fifth consecutive year that JLL has received this distinction. The company's accomplishments will be recognized during a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on April 13.

As an ENERGY STAR partner since 1998, JLL has built a number of its service offerings around energy reductions and sustainability initiatives that combat climate change. In 2015, the firm had 169 ENERGY STAR-certified buildings in its portfolio and hosted a franchise ENERGY STAR Battle of the Buildings Competition to reward facility managers and operating engineers that improved their buildings' ENERGY STAR scores. Last year alone, JLL helped clients reduce 278,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide and 477 million kWh of energy, resulting in $47 million in energy costs savings and the equivalent of removing roughly 69,245 cars annually from the road.

"We are at a critical moment in the history of sustainability," said Dan Probst, Chairman of Energy and Sustainability Services, JLL. "With the historic Paris Climate Change Agreement top-of-mind for so many organizations, we have a real opportunity to make a difference. The built environment is going to play a key role in reducing carbon emissions. We're honored to be recognized for our achievements and look forward to continuing to help commercial property owners and investors meet their commitments."

Since its inception in 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped prevent a total of more than 2.4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014 alone, ENERGY STAR and its partners provided more than $11 billion in societal benefits due to reducing damages from climate change.

"By continued collaboration with ENERGY STAR, JLL is helping Americans save money, save energy and do their part to reduce our nation's greenhouse gas emissions that exacerbate climate change," said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. "I'm proud to recognize JLL with the highest form of ENERGY STAR recognition, the 2016 Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award. JLL demonstrates a strong commitment to energy efficiency and to preserving a healthy planet for future generations."

The 2016 Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their contributions to reducing harmful carbon pollution through superior energy efficiency efforts. These awards recognize ongoing leadership across the ENERGY STAR program, including energy-efficient products, services, new homes and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors.
